If you thought Hollywood was out of ideas, you are right. The newest deal in Hollywood is to bring Joust, the classic arcade game, to the big screen. They are going to create a new world around the idea of knights fighting on top of ostriches. The concept is that it is 25 years in the future and the world is Mad Maxish. The company producing the movie is describing it as Mad Max/Gladiator and there will be, among other things, a floating Las Vegas. I can't wait for Pong the movie.

Are they serious? I really dont see this working out at all as a movie. If they just had yellow ostriches flying around that would be entertaining

To date, the only good game based movie is Clue imo. I know its a board game but its actually a good movie.

Ok...as stupid as this sounds...I can see it being good in the hands of someone like terry gilliam or Luc Besson...I like that rather than just going for the typical games like Doom, House of the Dead, etc. they're trying to branch out to games that have a very very simple concept and building on that.
