*UPDATED WITH 100th SHOW START TIME AND AFTER PARTY LOCATION*

We've got a lot going on in September!

Our first announcement is that the release date for iFanboy the video podcast is changing. New episodes will now premiere every Saturday, both here and at iFanboy.com.

If you're in the New York City area we've got two live events in the month of September!

iFanboy will be guests on the Comic Book Club (http://www.popcultureshock.com/cbclub/), the live on-stage comic book talk show put on by the good people at Pulp Secret - Alex, Justin and Pete. It all happens on September 18th at The People's Improv Theater (http://www.thepit-nyc.com/) at 8:00pm. Tickets are only $5! Come on down and enjoy 90 minutes of live comic book fun! Let's pack the house with iFanboy Faithful!

The final week of September marks the 100th episode of iFanboy's Pick of the Week Podcast! Come on down to Jim Hanley's Universe (http://www.jhuniverse.com/) in Manhattan on September 28th to watch the show live, starting at 8pm! We're still working out the details, but there should be a few special guests, some iFanboy swag, and hopefully, some good times. Join us after the taping for the after party at Stout (http://www.stoutnyc.com/)!

You are always welcome to sleep on my couch. Unfortunately, my couch is probably further away than yours is in this particular instance. If you ever need to see inbreds or anything though, I'm your guy.

It's actually kind of good news that the video show is going to Saturdays. Geekscape, TRS, Diggnation and iFanboy (almost all of the video podcasts I watch) all seemed to come out real close together Tuesday/Wednesday.

You should check out this place (http://www.wolcott.com/). It's two blocks away on 31st and 5th. It's in easy walking distance of Hanley's. Much to my wife's later chagrin, this is where we stayed while there on vacation this summer.

Yessir. I'm gonna hop a train in the afternoon and then head back out on the last train back to Philly. Or Trenton. We're still ironing out the details. I have a friend who will probably tag along. It would suck to be on the train all by my lonesome, so that's good. According to Conor, the night's festivities are all taking place on one stretch, so it sounds too easy to pass up.

So if I drove two hours away I could wait in line and have my passport shipped to me within two weeks. But then they opened a passport office in my city. So I decided that would be less hassle. So I applied at which point they told me "Oh, well this is just an application office, we ship that out to Toronto now" "Why not Calgary?" "I don't know. Because." "So what do I have to wait, three weeks?" "Three to four months". This threw off my summer vacation plans, and now my plans to attend iFanboy. Eff you lady form the passport (application) office with no personality, and apparently sensability.

Ok so, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much should I regret not being able to hop the train last night?

Honestly, I really wish you'd been there. I kept seeing people on the train I thought might be you. It was cool seeing the behind the scenes of the whole production, but the highlight for me was chatting with everybody.

Fred and I had a conversation before the show about having assigned seats with everyone's avatars on the chairs (lurkers in the rafters of course.) Then after the show we went to Stout, and our group ended up downstairs, and it was almost as if we had our own party room at that point. I had great conversations with each of the hosts. Ron's going to be my guide into the world of Brit Pop and Morrissey, Josh staged a miniature intervention where I was told to keep writing and not get caught up in the rat race (he had some very good advice about television writing), and then I talked with Conor and Fred about the difficulties we've encountered with podcasting.

I can't stress enough just how impressed I was with the whole operation, and also how friendly and generous the crew was. They made sure my two friends felt welcome, and as intimidating as it was to journey to NY on a Friday night to hang out with some people I'd never officially met before, the atmosphere was really comfortable. I felt as if I'd been talking to those guys for years. I'm hoping for some repeat visits.

If you weren't able to make it out to NY last night, redemption is still possible. At the very least, we have the NY con next spring. I expect to see more of you there!

Josh is the most intense drunk you're likely to meet. Extremely focused. He may have blinked twice. Which, incidentally, is the number of times we hugged it out. I was granted access to his iPhone earlier in the evening, and attempted to write "BOOBS" on the calculator application, but as the numbers aren't squared off it looked like this: 80085.

Also, I'd just like to point out that, while I can certainly understand why it seemed that way, I would like to take full responsibility for my wackiness. It wasn't so much the drink as it was the exhaustion. I really only had the one Guinness, and a leetle beet of the other. Nope, that's just tired excitable Flanagan for you. But I am that intense. Well the best way to tell if it's me or not is to look at my "My name is Blair" badge. I wear it at all times. So if you see someone that looks like a hobbit with blonde hair, glasses, and a name badge that says "Blair". Then that's me.

I'll be there next time for sure, no matter where/when next time is.

I was granted access to his iPhone earlier in the evening, and attempted to write "BOOBS" on the calculator application, but as the numbers aren't squared off it looked like this: 80085.

Josh got an iPhone? Congrats sir.
I discovered the lack of BOOBS on the first day. Sadly HELLO is also impossible. The sadness is unbearable sometimes.

those pics are great, i can't believe so many people made it! i really wish i could have headed down there... so is there a fuzzy typewriter cameo on the 100th episode then?? ;)

Friends like the Loch Ness Monster of the podcast. People know of him, tell stories of him even, but when it comes time for photos, he's always out of focus or distorted.
In other words, yeah, Fred went.

Paper, did you sleep at all? Damn.

We got back to my house around 3:30. Andy decided to crash on my couch. While he was looking around the shop he noticed that a lot of the books he kept reaching for were by a guy named "Alan Moore", so we watched the "Alan" episode of the video show. Probably fell asleep around quarter to 5. I woke up at 7, decided to see what was happening on the forums.

So, 2 hours.

Also, I'd just like to point out that, while I can certainly understand why it seemed that way, I would like to take full responsibility for my wackiness. It wasn't so much the drink as it was the exhaustion. I really only had the one Guinness, and a leetle beet of the other. Nope, that's just tired excitable Flanagan for you. .

Uh huh. :D

Fred's in the upper left of said photo. I believe there's a slightly different version over on the flickr page.

He's elusive, and just like on the forums, he was in the middle of a non-sequitor at the time of the photo. We're lucky to have captured him at all.

I was there and I just got home a few minutes ago. It was a great time. I expect to be able to open my eyes again by tomorrow.

AND there's a chance that I will be releasing a special edition episode of Comics This Week inspired by some of the events last night. The wife is helping with voices and ideas. The concept is hysterical.

so it looks like the iFanboy 100th episode has become the crossover "megaevent" of podcasting! "World War Fanboy"? "iFanboy Crisis"?

I can't tell you what I'm doing. It would ruin some stuff to talk about it this early. It's going to be about 5 minutes - not a big deal but hopefully very funny.

It really is staggering. So many books. Not only books that I hadn't seen in a shop before, but books that I'd never ever heard of. Lots of indie OGN's. I missed the "wall o' new books" from my lcs, but you could spend hours in Jim Hanley's discovering great books.

I can tell. I've yet to see a single issue in any pictures, but I've probably seen more books than my LCS carries, issues included. And theres, what, ten pictures uploaded?

You always made me laugh on the old 'drome and 'scape forums. Come on bro. You're not doing anything else with your life.

Ah, Sanchez, that sucks. I don't know what you look like so I wasn't sure how to find you. I'm sorry you couldn't make it. But it looks like there will be more opportunities, so hopefully things will work out then.

At a quick glance I could be Connors stunt double.

So, this is probably the weirdest observation for me to pull from this, but I'm somewhat of a sneaker geek. Josh, what kind of shoes are you wearing? I love them.
