There's a whack load of skills in in programming, hardware, layout, Photo skills. I just thought we could start a thread where we can help each other if we have any problems or questions. This way we can all post our questions and have a single thread to look this sort of stuff up in. I'm good with Hardware, some layout, some photo, but I'm hoping others will chime in and help out. Ask away....

Eh I don't go to the other forums on here, I can barely keep up with this one.
I can use some tech support practice. So let it rip.

THERE ARE OTHER FORUMS???!!!
you're damn skippy on that one my friend... I've poked my head into a couple of the other forums, but this is the only forum that keeps me coming back. It feels like home here. Seeing as we've already had a couple of threads on this topic I figure this is a great place to keep it. Seeing as this *is* the geek drome thread, surely this is a geek topic. Should any thread about a movie, or a game, or anything geek related be settled in this forum?

I would really suggest placing requests like these in the appropriate forum. Windows problems in the Windows forum, etc.
Yeah, I actually agree that if you have any Q's like that, there's a place for it and stuff, and there's ALLLL kinds of tech geeks that could help you out there. People can post random Q's in here all the time, though, like the mouse questions we got earlier, etc., anyway.
Do what you must, if you wanna keep it in here, you can, but just know that there really is a place for that if you want instant responses from people who apparently only talk about that stuff hahaha....
anyway, on the main page there are the following forums, not threads, FORUMS! haha:
Windows
Apple/OSX
Linux
Hardware/Gadgets.
for anybody that needs it, it's http://www.revision3.com/forum/index.php
(although i'm not sure about the amount of traffic that goes on there...so questions are always welcome in the drome).

hehehe... nah, he's good, I mean I get what was being said, my only point is that if stuff is going to get posted on this forum for tech support lets keep it in a single thread, rather than the multi threads.
The funny thing is that one of the other tech suppor threads in this forum was created by a... wait for it...... MODERATOR, queue Imperial theme music. ;)

Ditto, because few of you venture far from the nest, you are missing out on a lot of potentially great threads elsewhere as well.
I've ventured outside these walls... they are nowhere near as active as we are in here. I haven't seen new posts in the threads I'm interested in CAC for *three days*. And mostly what I see in the "General" section are the kinds of posts that are the worst of Geekdrome, such as the "What's your favorite..." series.
And don't even get me started on the lack of interestingness in Diggnation. I love Kevin and Alex, but dang... their fans post some uninspired shite.

They tend to be the work of 12 year olds :)
So, if the forums are droll, insipid, and uninspiring elsewhere, why not post there, and contribute? Try to raise the bar a little.
The show threads will be a little slow - they are really intended for discussion of the shows themselves. Because the other show forums discuss the content of the shows, many people in those threads are missing the discussions in here simply because they don't subscribe to the Geekdrome netcasts. Geekdrome is unusual because it IS such a random stream of thought that it captures everything, and inspires some level of active discussion.

hey guys. it's me. I'm here. I'm extremely late for work. Here's what's going to happen:
1. No more protest threads for now, please, b/c the mods who did this whole thing and I have come to an understanding, at least for the moment
2. I'm reviving this thread and stickying it for a day. It's perfectly fine for each according community to ask their own instead of being forced out. If people want to venture out of these forums, I say we should lure them out with some kind of appeal, not drag them out kicking and screaming.
3. I love you guys, this anti-establishment stuff is very inspiring.
4. Lay off the other mods. They are just run of the mill mods, who happen to be very good people, and you guys have to understand that we are not like any other online community. We are a very close knit group of friends, who openly admit anyone who wants to be in here to be in here and quite frankly, most people online are immature pieces of shit. Pieces of shit like that that most mods eat them for breakfast, as they should. They don't know what we're like in here and as you guys get to know them and they get to know you, I'm sure the relationships will be great and rewarding. So don't go crazy on them, cause thy were just doing what they thought was right. Even though, in my opinion, it wasn't. Why, though? that's b/c I know you guys. They don't.
5. I'm going to combine all the discussions about this into one thread. Keep up with the chronology and you can even keep talking about it. I might even put all those convos into the "users problems" thread...yeah...i think i'll do that. But like i said, no more of those please, cause I really need to mods to trust me on this and you guys need to not make me look like an ass. This is what's best for all people. any continuing discussion about this will go in the "usership/technical problems" thread.
6. I'm creating a closer and closer relationship with the rest of the Mod team, and for now, it's only cool for me to make changes like this. In the future, maybe you can all grow to trust those mods and we can all live in harmony. But for now, just please do what I asked above, cause I'll be at work till 5. I hope this makes everyone happy and that everyone has a good day.
