Hey, has anyone ever seen the movie Primer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0390384/)?
It's one of the best independent(ish) movies I have seen in the last couple years.
Came out in 2004, and is quite a different look on time travel. The whole movie was made for $7000, and it shows in some factors, but in the end its a great movie with insightful ideas. At times its hard to follow, but that doesn't affect the whole idea.
So, if you have seen it, discuss. If you haven't, I would suggest you go rent or... Lets just say it begins with "Bit" and it ends with "Torrent".

I liked it. You need to watch it at least three times before everything makes some kind of sense though...
I liked the way it didn't try to explain anything, there was no expositional dialogue, it was as if someone had just videoed these two guys talking about it.

I respect the fact that the flick was edited on Adobe Premiere.
It's a decent movie. Saw it theaters a while back;)

I watched the movie four times the first week I discovered it and since then have watched it at least another three times. Incredible, amazing, brilliant movie. It's so grounded in reality that it hardly feels like a science fiction movie and its method of time travel is quite inventive.
Also, the music in the film is beautiful...

Maybe i'm dumb but I just didn't get it. I liked the idea of it but I just didn't get it. A buddy of mine saw it at the video store and we rented it and I was just like O_o the whole time. But I sat through it but I wouldn't sit through it again.

I really think this is a film that you need to be prepared for. If you expect a "regular" film, it might take you unawares. You need to be in the mood for it I guess..... or maybe you just didn't like it :p

This film was really fascinating. I never buy movies without seeing them, but saw this for something like $2, even though I'd never heard of it. And boy I'm glad I did.
It's really fascinating how time travel might actually work. Unless you're bloody brilliant, you really have to watch this movie many many times.
*minor spoilers*
There ends up being something like 9 different timelines to follow and 6 different copies of people to keep track of. Just take a look at this timeline graph. I didn't understand a good portion of the movie until I saw this. There's also a good graphic on the wikipedia page that easily explains how they actually do the time travel that was helpful.

Damn, beat me to the punch.
I remember us talking about this movie back in the Geekdrome forum, it's one of my favorite movies. Almost every time you watch it, you learn something new about the plot, sort of "Eureka!" moments.

Yeah I saw it. GREAT Movie! What's weird is I got rid of it right after I watched it, my mind was janked. But then i got it again because I was intrigued once more. Then I got rid of it again. It's weird what it does to you're train of thought.

I really loved the movie. It seemed totally plausible that time travel would occur this way. They had me hook, line, and sinker up until about the last 3rd of the movie, which I simply didn't quite understand. Overall, it is a time travel movie that you MUST SEE!!
