I haf Pneumonia that led to a severe bronchial infection as a secondary symptom that almost caused my lungs to shut down.
Only real upside was the medicine I was put on that had a warning label that read "WARNING: POISON S10". Australian products get "S" ratings for this type of thing ... S10 is a controlled substance, and highly addictive. Just two weeks on this syrup, and I wanted more - it was a morphene based substance.
Just a taste of being an adict is a scary thing. 2 weeks on the stuff, and a month of cravings for it afterwards.

I had both in the hospital and had to be given this therapy stuff to breathe. My blood ox. was below 60% and it did cause some brain damage. (Don't crack jokes on that - it's affected my ability to learn and causes frustration.)

I'm allergic to morphine. And yeah, it's highly addictive.

This isn't the first time I've had this. Typically I spend about half of each fall and winter sick, though tend to mask it well. My immune system is very bad. I also once had a case of chronic bronchitis that lasted over three years ago (just got over it spring of last year).
Today I had a fever on and off, and food doesn't want to stay down. So this really sucks.

There are two kinds of pneumonia to my understanding. One is bacterial and the other is viral. You should go to the doctor, if it's bacterial you can take an antibiotic that may help clear it up some.
The most important thing is to take it easy. Lay around the house, get plenty of sleep and keep hydrated. Have your boyfriend stop by the movie store and pick you up some movies to watch tomorrow. Take it easy and get well soon!

I did, and it's bacterial. The main antibiotic, penicillin, puts me into anaphylaxis. So I steer clear of antibiotics unless I absolutely must.

This is pretty much what I've been doing, except tomorrow I do need to go to my mom's place to pick up my cat, who she's been cat-sitting for two weeks so I could go to Burning Man. It's over an hour away, and I dread the drive.
And thanks! I'm hoping to be well soon.
