Microsoft plans to launch its Internet Explorer 7 browser “within the next two weeks”, the company said at the Digital Life conference in New York.

The software developer previously had said that the application would be available some time in the second half of 2006.

Internet Explorer 7 will be bundled with the forthcoming Windows Vista operating systems and will be made available as a free download to Windows XP users.

Actually Opera is. Faster, less exploits, acid2 compliant, more features from the get go.

Agreed, Opera rocks. Firefox is better than IE though.

Another thumbs up for Opera.

Should get the admins to post some broswer/OS stats once the servers have been up for a while. I am guessing we will see a majorty of Rev3 users on FF with Windows XP.

I used Opera from v4 to v7 and loved it. However around that time it started getting really bloated. I then moved to Firebird (later to be called Firefox).

I just can't get into Opera's new interface, its just a little too different.

Currently I use Safari. When Safari RSS first came out the speed blew my mind.

I'd say so for the reasons mentioned earlier. The extensions are nice and all, but in the end you're just surfing the web.

Everything Opera comes with is useful and it takes like 8 extension to make FF work the same.

For me it takes no extensions in Firefox in order to get all the things that I find useful in Opera. I think the only extension that I'd find useful is something that lets me open a webpage using the Internet Explorer engine, which I've yet to find any real use for since Windows automatically tells me whenever there's any new updates.

I use Firefox, Opera, Safari, Camino, and IE7 when I am coding my websites.

I personally prefer Firefox and Opera, I think if Opera and Mozilla were to make a browser together it would be my dream browser.

Also IE7 is just IE6, but it is trying a little bit too hard to be Opera and Firefox
