Does anyone watch Scrubs? And does anyone know if there's gonna be a new season? My mom and I are whores for that show, and are dying to know.

I love Scrubs as well. There will be a sixth season: just like last year, they will do a full season's worth of episodes in the spring-half of the season. This will likely be the last season (as said by the creator, Bill Lawrence) and is also Zach Braff's last season in his contract. Don't worry about Zach though, he's got a job as JLo's stunt double in El Phantasmo Blanco: The Last Luchadore.

I love scrubs. I just bought the 1st season the other week, even though I've seen every episode atleast once. They will be doing there last season and I hate to see it go, but its time.

This is good and bad news to me. Does anyone else think that Zach Braff got to famous for his fans after Garden State came out? I remember he had this blog on typepad where he seemed like a normal guy. I went on his site a few weeks ago, and he was whoring The Last Kiss soundtrack.

I don't know. For some reason, before the whoring began. It was like he was that friend you tell "yeah sure, you'll never make it". But then he did make it, and now you're feeling like shit because everyone thinks you're hopping on the band wagon, and you have to sit at the tables in the back of the steakhouse while good ol' famous Zach Braff gets to sit near the window!... God, the horrors of my past.

he's kind of always done that. That's why there's always been a lot of the shins and stuff like that on the show. I happen to like that music and I don't have any problem with him helping people out. At least he's not hawking doet coke.

A new season's coming, as far as I know. There was a thing on digg a while back saying that the entire cast of Arrested Development is going to appear one by one throughout the season.

The show is very good. The one thing that I find upsetting about it is the moral lessons and stringent structure. The moral lessons are so unnecessary and I'm sure that they contradict themselves from episode to episode. Making one person feel morally superior is such an unnecessary pursuit especially when one person falsely realizes that they were in the wrong. Also the janitor is one of the most obviously contrived characters of all time (although this amazingly doesn't get in the way). Still it's a way better than average sitcom.

I think those moral situations and drama parts are necessarry to make the funny parts work. A lot of the 'jokes' are based on that strong character developement. Of course, there's a lot of random humor as well, like the janitor and stuff. I love the janitor character, though. huh, never really thought of him as contrived...

I really got into it through the reruns and it's a really original and clever show (I also can't stand laugh tracks on sitcoms, let me decide what I find funny). I think by season 4 they got the weakest parts of the show and went overdrive on them. I find Dr Cox, to be my fave character, but the banter by season for instead of being funny, it's just that annoying mouth bend thing. I also find that JD has also became more annoying.

I still watch it and it's a nice show, but the episodic soapy format also means I'll be waiting for the DVD collections. I hate being out of the loop. Oh, and eliot is a lot hotter on this show then she was on Rosanne :)

JD has a crazy personality that makes me flip each time he starts thinking , he must be on drugs or something.

I agree, ive said it from the start of season 4. it seems like they got worse writers and producer for season 4. WHERE ARE THE GREAT MUSICAL NUMBERS?!?!?!? Why isnt nurse roberts constantly reffering to jesus?? Season 4 was a letdown but still better than most shows

This has become one of my favorite shows. I never got to watch it before, because of when it was on, and I had no DVR. I've been watching all of the reruns on Comedy Central and am amazed at how many actors and actresses I keep seeing on other shows. Like Masi Oka on Heros and Scott Foley on the Unit and a couple others I can't think of right now.

Scrubs is awesome, this episode was really good, this, the office, and heroes are my three must watch tv shows. Family Guy is up there as well but I'm not as excited when I get the newest episode as I am with the othe three.

Scrubs come back as indirectly resulted in the death of Geekdrome, I guess my two favorite shows can not truely exisit together but J-Lo's new show will hopefully fill most of the void.

Very cool ep. Is anyone else worried that this season will be too turk-carla-centric? Seriously theyve had 2 seasons primarily about them. I dont mind all the style changes but in some ways Im hoping that they'll bring it back to its roots.

kevmann16
12-04-2006, 11:46 PM
I'm more worried that everyone is having a baby, that could make the show pretty bad. Maybe the show is focusing on Turk more because Zach Braff is leaving at the end of the series according to rumours.

Zach is one of my Heroes so it will be a sad loss but I'll stick with the show, even if it is the Turk-Carla show

Braff's contract is up after the end of this year, but he said he will continue for as long as the show is on air. Now, Creator Bill Lawarence may also decide to end the show after this year.

zombi
12-04-2006, 11:54 PM
Thats better news. Scrubs is probably the hardest show to judge based on its first ep on tv. Theyre always filled with music, crazy stuff, characters acting weird, all of these even more so than usual. On one hand they arent always the best eps, but theyre more ambitous than any other sitcom type show on tv.

kevmann16
12-04-2006, 11:56 PM
It hard to keep up with show news in the UK, but good to hear Braff will stick around as long as it airs, hopefully this season will be a hit and Lawarence will do a few more series, this show is the only one the can make me laugh one moment then bring a tear to my eye the next.

Makes sense. I mean the shows creater seems to do that kinda thing often. The big moment that never comes and the ep and following eps are about the handling of it. I gotta say itd provide something that most tv shows cant, at least scrubs can switch between the moments at whim.

I love scrubs, its my favorite TV as I've said in this thread before but they seems to be something off with this new series, I've still enjoyed the three episode so far, but they haven't been as laugh out loud funny as the other series and Dr Cox is really Annoying this year.

I think the spoken jokes are still really funny but I seem to be able to guess whats coming next all the time these series.

Like the Todd being hidden in the room when Carla was going to breast feed, or that women having something wrong with her hands in the piano scene.

Last Nights episode did have some great bits though.

"That what we great for playing a couple of G's from the hood"

"Do I smell blue?" "You crafty, crafty man."

I always enjoyed the scenes where they would cut to what is going on in JD's mind... it seems like they don't do it as much this season as they used to. The show still has its moments but i would agree that this season isn't the greatest.

Well, scrubs is still better than most sitcoms on tv, so Ill stick with it. Plus, Ive invested this much into it, might as well. But yes, its undeniable that scrubs has been taking a down turn since season 3-4. last season (5) was horrible for the first half, I remember it getting better though. I have a feeling this season will do the same. But like I said before, at its worst its still not as bad as other sitcoms and we all like the characters and thats something that most shows struggle to acheive.

Does anybody else feel like the fact that it got picked up by Comedy Central help promote the show for NBC. I for one never watched it until it was on Comedy Central and now aside from The Office it is my favorite current sitcom on all of TV.
