Spore Has a Release Date!

That's right, the highly anticipated Spore finally has a release date.

Spore will be hitting shelves March 3rd 2008.

I cannot wait for this game.

I can't really get a whole lot of info about games at work but this is from the same guy that made Sims correct? The one that keeps getting put off?

About time. This will either be a HUGE game or it'll flop, I don't think there is going to be much middle ground. It's been so anticipated that if it doesn't rock our socks off it'll be a major let down.

To me it sounds like a cross between SimEarth and Black&White. Both of those were great so I'm optimistic. Like all Will Wright games this'll probably be a time-sink too.

The best part is the multi-player aspect... My lifeforms will kick your lifeforms asses or whatever they have that would be their asses!:cool:

I picked up B&W 2. Maybe I just didn't invest enough time into it but I just didn't get it. I should give it another go around but WoW is taking up way to much time for me at this point.

In reference to B&W I was referring to how your actions affect how your people and creature change and grow. In Spore (as I understand) your choices will affect your life forms through their evolution. Like if you make them pacifists, perhaps they'll always have a hard time against more aggressive races. Or if you go to the other extreme, perhaps they'd choose to conquer first and negotiate later.

Oh I wasn't saying that stuff about B&W like it would be bad in Spore. I just need to put more time into it. I really love the idea of being a god and being able to be good or evil and all that. I'm looking forward to Spore. I just hope one of my machines will run it.

I see no oficial proof that this date is real, yet everyone across the internet takes it as real, just because amazon has a date dosent mean Will takes back what he said that, "spore will be done when it is done"

Whether the date is accurate or not, I'm very excited to see this game released. Ever since I first heard of it well over a year ago I've been eagerly anticipating playing.

Unlike WoW, (which my boyfriend just hates) this will be a game that we both find interesting and smart and can play together. I look forward to making him "waste time" in a video game with me. :D

My enthusiasm for this game already peaked. I still really want to play it. But its been so long in the making that more news and not a physical copy in my hands isn't gonna make me more or less excited than when I watched Robin William's goof around with it on the internet clip.

YES! Hopefully it won't have any major flaws. The game is definitely cool but very hard to pull off right.
