Photoshop Contest: Totallyradfans.com layout.

The TRS chatroom (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9235) has recently put together a TRS fan site. (www.totallyradfans.com) And, seeing as its a fan site. We need you, the fans, to give us ideas for a totally rad layout.

What we would like you to do is put together a mock web page in your graphics program of choice, and the raddest one will be adopted as the look and feel for the fan site. So get to it peoples! Get your finger tips dirty in that electronic paint! Stain your already Cheeto stained clothes! I know we can get some rad ideas from the people here!

Well, we have the Java app for the chat room right now. I've been throwin' around some ideas in my head, but I'm not sure if we have a road plan just yet. But it is a fan site, we're open to suggestions.

Ahh... What about Joomla? That's what I've been using freelancing and it's been pretty powerful.

To Be Honest....I find Joomla hard to develop for, it takes far too much time to adapt stock HTML prototypes into a Joomla template. As well, I find it inflexible.

I chose CMS Made Simple because of it's flexibility, and for the fact that it uses PHP Smarty as it's built-in templating language...it means that we can rapidly swap out templates and other, normally "static" content whenever necessary, and can also develop new templates with barely any need to worry about "making it work with <insert your favourite CMS here>".

Wow... Ive found the complete opposite. Once you get the basics down it takes me only about 5 minutes more from a normal css/html layout to make a template. I can adapt almost any template in minutes.

Joomla installs in a snap too. A lot of very good modules already made for it too. Static content delivery is very easy and as well it handles blog type data easily too. It's easy enough for a small mom and pop shop scaled to something like revision3.

Although for my likings I usually have to edit the stock components, modules and mambots. But its that way with everything aint it?

But i'll give it a looksee. Perhaps it'll be something I use for the smaller sites I do.

That means that Radness will be limited to carryon items only, and only bodily fluids you can secrete into a 3oz bottle will be excepted and store in a 1 quart ziploc bag will allowed through security.

Obvious things are - links to the topics discussed, not the actual discussions, but links and clips, graphics and whatnot, to the movies, books, tv etc, discussed on the show. That and lots of pics Alex's head photoshopped onto Farrah Fawcett's body, because, every website should have those.

I like the first idea. I'll toss it over to the code monkey. As for the second idea. Go ahead and make those and put them in the Flikr group. We'll be linking to the Flikr group rather then having all the images on the site.

A couple weeks back I had an idea for a TRS website (as the Rev3 one is pretty pathetic). Although work picked back up rather quickly and I never had a chance to really develop anything.

@risro: I actually like your grey design over the Boom! design, although explosions are always cool.

@blure007: What are those fonts? The design looks nice and clean (dispite the random drop shadows) but they look like a Franklin Gothic variants which are far from universal fonts.
