Anime that should be made into a live action movie.

Now that Robotech has been picked up warner brothers with Tobey Maguire as the producer and maybe take the lead role what other animes should be adapted for the big screen?

I would like to see Cowboy Bebop, Death note, Berserk, and Akira

Anime should never be made into live-action anything, ever. It always comes out terrible.

Anime doesn't necessarily always suck as live action. I have never seen it done right but that doesn't mean it can't be done. Cowboy Bebop would work as a live action movie, but as most things transfered to movie form, the story is the key. Cowboy bebop is Space Noir and everybody love a good noir flick. The key is not to get caught up on the small stuff. The appearance of the characters isn't that important, a guy with a weird afro and a chick dressed in a yellow stripper outfit with HUMONGOUS knockers just won't look right live action, so change it and don't try to make the movie look like an anime cartoon.

agreed, though some anime would transfer better than others, princess mononoke or ninja scroll would transfer easier than say MD Geist or Armitage III, Which make great anime and would suck otherwise. Personally I'd like to see Berserk.

I'm not a big anime fan but I'll add the Cowboy Bebop vote.

I believe I've heard rumors that 'Grave of the Fireflies' is going to made live-action. That should translate well.

There was already a serial drama about Grave of the Fireflies.
I'd say Cowboy Bebop too, it already has an American flavor so i think it would translate well to a fun adventure movie.

There already is a live action Death Note movie. Two actually. And Japanese of course. They aren't too bad. But 9/10ths of the movie is already spoiled for you if you've read the manga.

Honestly, I want to see a live action Hajime no Ippo movie. With over emphasized special moves like in the Prince of Tennis movie, it could potentially be epic.

But do you want americans to remake the animes? Because i'd say hell no to that. I was never a transformers fan as a kid so pardon me when I say besides the graphics, the movie was a pile of crap. But there's a lot of difference between transformers which was big for american children, compared to like akira, which only confused the crap out of a small amount of americans. I think once graphics are cheaper and easier to produce, the japanese people will start remaking a bunch of animes.

I would love to see what they would do for Akira. Just to see what hollywood would do to it. Just for curiosities sake.

Most live action flicks made from Anime or Cartoons usually isn't so great. I think they should just be left alone.
