I've been following this story very closely and I think it is relevant to everyone who shops - anywhere. I also do not like to be treated as a criminal when I enter/exit a store.
yes
one day i was coming home from shopping ~ i had mac urban outfitters sephora etc shopping bags with me and a young black kid that i had spoken with in my neighnorhood saw me and said hello so i stopped to talk with him
the next thing i know there are police cars and this police officer asked for id ~ i was blocks from my home and i didn't have it but i did have my platinum credit card so i handed him my credit card
he said 'you can go'
i said 'why did you stop me'
he wouldn't answer
but i noted his name went home called the police and asked to speak to the chief of police told him what happened
two hours later the same officer came to my apartment building and apologized
