A friend of mine told me the are going to make another one and from what i heard Gans is gone as well as Avary. Who would do think should team up for this?

On this note, i played the game last night in the dark and its still creepy as hell. this was my second time playing in since it came out so i am hoping to get the alien ending soon.

I never played the original game. I played a bit of SH2. That disclaimer aside, I really enjoyed the movie. The way it ended though was pretty final. If they do a second movie I hope they don't try to tie it very strongly to the first movie. That one felt done.

They should base the second movie on Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams. The story was cool. A man gets a letter from his wife telling him to meet her at silent hill...BUT SHE'S BEEN DEAD FOR 5 YEARS!!!!!....so that would be cool.

If Roger Avary goes anywhere near a word processor for a sequel I will break his fingers. The screenplay was utterly wretched.

Christophe Gans got the look right. At least until he decided to shoot 2.35:1 and smother the film in a thick layer of CGI crap, completely robbing the film of any sense of 'realism' that the games had.

Gans was in love with the world and the creatures, but had no clue how to bring them together into a satisfying narrative.

I can't believe they are making a sequel to this, I got hit very hard for dragging my friends gf to go see the first one. They really need to get a good script, some one who maybe has written a script for a video game. I wouldn't mind seeing the person who adapted the Ring or The Grudge to write the script. As far as Directors, Gans is my pick.

what i didnt understand is they should have just got the writers from the video game....how hard is that for them. I thought C.gans did great. but i do see what you are saying.

the first was fine but if they do another dont really attach it to this one, like someone else said this seemed pretty finished storywise.

I agree with all of the points you made but I feel but not nearly as strong as you do. I never played any of the games so the movie was my only exposer to that world (which I thought was really cool).

Sure the story wasn't that great but overall the first film was enjoyable and I'll be looking forward to another one as long as they put more focus onto the script now that they've nailed down the look they wanted.
