First, thanks for the new forum. :D

On the excessive side, if it's as BIG as I think it's going to be.... I am guessing, it will broadcast live off the Rev3 page with viewers being able to call in via phone and Skype. I'm thinking this will be the direct descendant of The Screensavers.

On the less excessive side it will be a great tech oriented show with Pat and Jessica. Could that be any more vague.

I'm very slightly disappointed about two things thus far, after reading the wired article:

1) Is anyone else bummed that at present it's only going to be a half-hour show? Screensavers was an hour long 5 nights a week. I realize at the moment Rev3 might not have the same resources SS had back then, but if it's only going to be a weekly show...... I don't know; maybe I'm just greedy!
2) "..there are no plans for the show have an actual monster." :\

Everything sounds great to me I just hope Hahn is there also to do some segments.

And hopefully one day when Rev3 gets a little bigger the show moves to 1 hour.

I wish they would fix it since it does not work for many devices now.....Wii,PS3,Iphone,Apple TV from the past topics I have seen.

We're working on it... The problem is that those devices only support Flash 7 while our player requires at leat 8. We have an idea on resolving this conflict, but it will require a little time.

I was so excited yesterday that I missed the part about it being 30 mins. That's a little short, but like Samureye said, it's just the beginning.

It's the internet. They don't have to follow a time limit. To me it means it will be AT LEAST 30 min but could go up to an hour if they damn well want. :)

I would also like to see it be a little bit longer, but remember a 1 hour TV show only has about 40 minutes of actaul content.

I'm pretty excited about this. Sad to see InDigital come to an end. In the age of podcasts I would think offering both the Tekzilla version and a standalone version would be doable so as not to loose advertising money from people who already subscribed. I guess they can just forward the feed though.

The call in part sounds good too. It's probably a pain the ass to setup, but Leo does live (to tape) skype calls which look a lot better than the old days. Any word on frequency of shows yet?

I like the name. It's simple and catchy.

The most important part is the content!

The Screen Savers wasn't much of a great name either... but it was the content and people that made it so awesome.

Actually I like it. It reminds me of a Monster of Tech. It sounds exciting. :)

really hyped about this, i hope i digg it(i know i will but will it hit that just right spot?0 but i'm sad that its STARTING at a 30min show, but i guess that means when they do go to an hour it will have a good impact on me.

i really hope they get a mascot even if they say no monsters....

To be specific he said that REVISION3 is as close as possible to a TechTV 2.0. Leo seems to think what they are doing here is great. John C. Apparently Leo is more annoyed that Norton has directly lifted the format from TSS. Leo was expecting him to have just copied it in spirit rather than ripping it off top to bottom.
You only have to look at how Norton made DLTV to see that he's been trying to get TSS back. With DLTV he never had the space or budget to do what he wanted so once given the chance.. he dumps Ziff Davis (and Heron/Chang - they aren't happy either, though promises have been made for them to follow once things get off the ground... we all know how those promises go) like a stone to get some stock in Rev3.
I'm telling you there is a shit storm about this and it's all revolving around Norton.

I have some issues with Miro. It's bloated and the player kinda sucks. Of course, this was on Windows so I'll try it now that I'm using Kubuntu (couldn't stand the switch back to Windows). It's firefoxish which makes it bloated and its embedded VLC isn't as good as the standalone one.

I'll give it another shot though since it might work better under Linux.

Miro (then democracy) was optimized several months ago. After that I had no trouble and start it with windows, but I upgraded my computer recently so I can't speak as to how it is today. Revision3 is great with it because the video downloads around the time when it comes out without the need to go to the website and check. I also like it because they aren't satisfied to be just another video player, but want to be the firefox for video (w/ addons too soon!).
