miami beach is going wifi free from the city ~ beta beginning october

i was wondering how many people live in wifi cities

and what their experience is ~ speed and reliabilty

Sydney (Australia) has pretty much citywide Wifi in the CBD when I was there 2 years ago. Kinda handy, but its not free :(
Toronto (Canada, not Australia :) ) doesn't really have city wide wifi, but there are enough open access points that it might as well be ;)

Philly is in the process of going citywide, but I've seen a lot of stories on the news about different issues they're having.

I was just reading about WiMax yesterday for one of my classes and was wondering how it fits into these citywide wifi projects?
