Question, with the recent success of the majority of comic based movies, is this a good idea? It seems to me that this could go downhill easy. Especially with superman and batman involved in the same movie... if they don't use the current actors for each, I don't know if it would work.
as a fun side note, no casting has been done yet, who does everyone think would make for good cast members?
superman, batman, wonder woman, the flash, and aquaman.

Christian Bale - Batman
Liv Tyler - Wonder Woman
Brandon Routh - Superman
Paul Walker - Aquaman
Ryan Reynolds - The Flash

Since there won't be Brandon Routh or Christian Bale, I think the movie is a huge mistake. There's a chance it might go decently well, but just the fact that there would be two supermans and two batmans just rubs me the wrong way. I honestly think they have things backwards. They should take time to develop the individual characters of the justice league into their own movies before combining them all together. Not the other way around.
But seriously I want to see Michael Jackson as Wonder Woman.
Tell me that wouldn't rock.

I didn't read in the article that they wouldn't be in it, just that '...the project, which is in the initial phases of casting'. They stopped the production on the next Superman movie, to start on this. Maybe so Routh could be in it?
Correct me if i'm wrong but they could both still be in it...and that would rock.

The thing is the Justice League CN show had such great casting that it'd be hard to find someone who can live up to that standard.
Besides, I don't want a 15 year old superman, and a 35 year old batman, that just doesn't work. If you want to go with Bale, fine, just cast somebody who can share the screen with him.
Liv Tyler plays a girly girl too much to be taken seriously as a feminist Wonder Woman and just doesn't have the screen presence. Besides, WW is stacked, LT is not, unfortunately.
You also have to have the triad of WW batman and superman on the same level. If they don't respect each other, there is no movie.
Not sure on Paul Walker, I'm thinking Kevin Costner.
FLASH is cast perfectly with Ryan Reynolds, assuming he's playing Wally West, don't change a thing.
If WB wants to turn this into a TRUE trilogy, they should, as there's a lot, perhaps too much to say in a 2 hour period.
I'm also pretty surprised that they didn't include a green lantern, as I can't remember an incarnation of the Justice league without a green lantern.

Yeah, so the dark knight is currently in production so christian bale is definitely out of the picture for justice league unless they delay it. Brandon Routh is currently free but I swear I read that him and singer were getting ready for the next superman which is why they are looking at other people for superman.

These are my picks if that's the case...

**** Aquaman. Where's Green Lantern?
If they are gonna do a JL movie, they should really do separate movies for each of the characters first.

Could be cool. I did hear that it was going to be all CGI. Not sure if that's still true, there seems to be some mixed reports.

Thanks - I figured AquaMan would be the one you would have to cast doubly tough to fight the stigma he's had for so long...and the toughest Bond would be able to kick that wussy label out the window...

Sorry to burst everyones bubble but Christian Bale and Brendan Routh with NOT be the main guys that head up the league. A friend of mine is bascially obsessed with the show Smallville and thus he has done a shit ton of research and forum reading for this. **i will get links from him later to prove what im saying is true**
Supposidly the actor the studio heads have in mind for the role of the Man of Steel is the current one, Tom Welling. Yes i know id rather have the actual big screen Superman and no word yet as to who may fill the Dark Knights role. The whole point of the League movie in theory is that its the early days of the league. You know when its forming who the original members are and their first big villian battle.
You know gvie teneric stuff for an origin movie that will have continuing arcs.

I don't know about this. It would almost force them into continuity with Smallville, and they already introduced Flash and Aquaman in the show, and had them in multiple episodes. They would have to recast the parts with bigger names and better actors, which would force them from using the characters ever again in the show.
Plus, Tom Welling can barely pull off TV Superman. He would suck in a film version.

Why is it that people think these type of movies need star power to put asses in the seats. THEY DON'T! I know i'm a big comic book fan and I want someone that can look and act how that character is. Just my 2 cents but I want someone true to what I've read not some big name that looks nothing like the character I've been reading for years.

Ok honestly if they are going to make this movie then dont make it the origin story. Make it like the forming of the Avengers; a massive problem so big no single hero can handle it alone. Though if they make this i would like them to go back in time and pick up the script for Grayson.
Im not sure if anyone else saw this trailer but i was at Hero Con a few years ago (for those of you who dont know Hero Con is held in South Carolina has a few B listers head lining and is a great place to meet alot of people who do great comics that arent main stream.) Actually I met the head writier and penceler for the Army of Darkness comic and Richard Keil, better known as Jaws from the Bond films. Actually i have a pretty cool picture of him trying to crush my head.
ANYWAY they had this DVD on loop and all it was was a quick trailer of the aftermath of what happens when Batman dies. Ill put the youtube link up this time instead of trying to figuring out the code to put it here, plus youtube + code = hates me. If you havent seen it take a look the thing is EPIC. Definatly a movie i would pay some money to see. I could definatly see Dan directing this he has the right eye for this kind of film.

Ok so this thread sorta went dead and need a shot of adrenaline to get it going away and apparently someone stole, or is atleast commenting on the JLA script including who the characters will be. And not suprisingly Aquaman no es aqui in the the script.
Read it over see what you think and go well that seems like it might be decent.
