Ok, currently I work at Toys "R" Us and well, I'm looking to go a little higher and better than that.

Some places that I'm looking at are:
1. Best Buy (You get a raise every 3 months)
2. Circuit City
3. Dicks Sporting Goods
4. Any other place that has to do with my interests.

Anybody have any suggestions for good companies to work for? Also, I'm a college student and can only work a few days a week if that matters.

As a teen, where ever you work is going to suck. tHe question is where is going to suck less.

Retail is a rotten job, but despite horror stories Best Buy might actually work out for you. Don't employees get some sort of staff discount? That is a bonus that might help feed your habits :)

If I was a teenage guy that had to work retail, I'd bag the tech stores. I get a job in the junior's department at Macy's/

Stay clear of Gamestop/EB games if you want to be paid for your job...the corp usually just pays min wage and gives practically no hours (maybe a lot of retail is like that anymore)

Retail is retail...it doesn't really matter. Choose the store you like best. Personally, if I was in the job market again (and looking for a retail job) I would try the Apple store, Best Buy or Circuit City.

I work for Lowe's (http://lowes.com). Not really a "techy" place like a lot of us here would prefer, but it pays the bills right now. It's a good company, with no limit of how far you can move up within, if you have the desire to do so. It is retail though, so take that for what it's worth. Retail works for some people, and some people it doesn't.

If I had a Best Buy or similar electronics store around where I live, I would probally be working there right now.

My friend worked there for 3 years, didn't have any problems. Yes min wage, but most places do lol.

They were also renovating their house at the time, so employee discounts helped (when they were available).

Don't work at Jysk they suck, and are poorly run, i was fired from there after 2 weeks of busting my ass, there reason for firring me, i was not Jysk material, i figure this was a good thing seeing as Jysk material would mean i am cheap and massly produced, XD

A few years back my friend worked at Circuit City. The employees got to buy things at COST. If it's still that way, that's benefit enough right there :)

When he worked there, he got me a $275 Kenwood CD player for $125.

An ex's sister had the same problem. Sometimes she'd even get to work only to find her shift canceled.

I second both of these. I worked at Starbucks when I was 18 and it was actually pretty fun. I know all the Starbucks hate, but it was really fun. The pay started a couple dollars an hour above minimum wage. And a lot of customers tip, whether or not there's a tip jar out. Tips are split among all employees each week based on number of hours because everyone works together. And you get benefits after just 20 hours. That is IMPORTANT. If you're going to be responsible for your medical while in school, but can only work part time, this is your place. They're also very supportive of kids going to school.
