I preordered it on some site so I probably won't get it for a couple of days. But I'm not that excited about it anyways. While most people were playing the cod4 beta to wait for halo 3, i think i'll play halo 3 to wait for cod4. Or i'll be too busy playing team fortress 2. Nothing really exciting about halo3 except for the coop experience. So I guess i'm excited that I get to play a game with my friends, but the game doesn't matter to much to me.

I'm starting to look forward to it lol. I didn't like Halo 2 because of the controls but the multi player beta seemed pretty solid. I still think the series is a bit overrated but it should be a pretty awesome game. I'm definitely looking forward to the Forge feature, that looks really cool.

After watching some video reviews, I think I'm getting a little more exciting. I'm such an Alex, I love my coop.

But I have a question about Xbox Live that's kind of off topic. I'm really a 360 virgin. For my roommate and I to both play online at the same time, do we need to buy two xbox live accounts? Or is that not even possible? Thanks

so if you and your roomate wanted to play at the same time, on the same box, on the same tv - split screen - it's totally doable without 2 xbox live accounts...you just wouldn't be able to play ranked games (no big deal)

your roomate would just sign in as a guest so it would be like:
XboxName and XboxName1

if your roomate wanted to, they could totally pay for a gold account and you could play the team based ranked matches.

i'd say just go with 1 account cause unranked is super fun still. also, this weekend best buy is sponsoring a free xbox live weekend so all accounts will turn to gold status. pretty rad. id suggest testing out the 2 account system via the free weekend before buying 2 accounts.

That is what I'm looking forward too as well. I never played the story mode on the first 2 games but playing story with friends on live is my total selling point.

My wife ordered me the Legendary Edition, but it is for Christmas. She told me to buy a regular copy now. :)


I am excited for this game, mostly for things like the online co-op, replay editor, and map editors.

It's all good except for the friendly AI. All my soldiers and the arbiter don't hesitate to run right in front of my shot. Other then that, rock solid! Between this and Bioshock, productivity is way down at my house!

Picked it up last night. Some friends and I played through the first level of Campaign Co-op on Legendary and it was pretty fun. The AI doesn't seem as intelligent as I expected it to be on the higher difficulty. It just seems like they toss more grunts and brutes with higher accuracy at you instead of making them smarter. The in game rendering is a shit ton better than Halo 2, but being that it's on the 360 this time, I guess thats to be expected. The Brute hammer is totally rad and so fun to use. :D I can't wait to get back home so I can keep playing :p

Well, I haven't bought the game yet... but at lunch i'll go over to my buddies house and play it. hopefully it's epic. I really want it to be good. but i wasn't a fan of Halo2

I picked it up last night. I went to one wal-mart before Midnight and the line was well over 100 deep. I'd decided to skip it for sleep and picking it up this morning when I decided to try the crappy wal-mart not far from my house and the line was 10 deep. I kept telling myself that I didn't need anything more than the regular version but the legendary version kept nagging me, so I ended up splitting the difference and getting the limited edition. The discs are scuffed up pretty bad but so far so good.

I went through the first mission. Nothing surprising so far, but the game play is good enough that I'm not dissapointed. The first one didn't really get going for a couple of missions anyway. I don't know how I can afford to skip any more sleep. If anyone is looking for me, I'll be standing next to the coffee machine for the next few weeks.

Sadly I don't live where fast internet is available so I don't have xbox live so I'm ganna have to go though it again on heroic or wait for more people to come over and enjoy split screen.

Oh, I see. it was funny see who wasn't playing halo 3 on my friends list. There was one guy playing that golf game on XBL. Another funny thing was that there was one guy who was playing Halo3 way longer than i was, but his "personal text" said "On Sept. 25 I'll be in skate".........I guess hes a liar.

Eh the game was just that...eh. Don't get me wrong, its beautiful and plays well, its just really short and the story telling elements started getting really annoying towards the end.

As for multiplayer, sadly I'm not on live yet as I'm unable to hardwire my 360 and refuse to pay the $100 for the wireless adapter. Altho I may crack soon...

Also whats the deal with the new multiplayer menu system? Why is it so freaking difficult to set up a quick game between 4 people on the same machine? Sheesh. And the map loading is ri-goddamn-diculous.

Played some Co Op with Patch last night, was super fun and the co op system works great.

I finished the campaign this morning. Bit of a let down... still don't quite get it. It answers-all-the-questions but not in an interesting way. Now I'm on the other side I can see how thick the marketing machine spread the b.s.

I hate the matchmaking system. It's frustrating the hell out of me. It keeps connecting me to servers where I've only got 1 red dot (connection status) and then it says if I quit, I get my experience points penalised. (and I told it to prioritise connection speed)

I still haven't figured out how to play a co-op game yet either. From what I gather, I just sit in the lobby and wait for random people to join? But how do I join a co-op lobby? Argh... they may have done user testing on the game, but they didn't appear to do any on the menu system.

I just finished the 5th chapter, and I'm prolly about halfway through the sixth. its just so hard to drag myself away from matchmaking to actually play the campaign, but the story is far better than in 2, in my opinion.

Better than the second one, for sure. It feels like a next gen Halo game. The online is a lot of fun (and I didn't really care for the past online aspect of Halo).

Way to much hype but I too fell for it LOL I was home playing it by 1:00am 9/25/07.
I was waiting in line (8th in a line of a few hundred) from 7:30pm till 12:06am
Glad I didn't spend the $ for legendary LOL and just got the limited instead!

I beat the normal mode in about 3 hours of gameplay got the Achevement on 9/25/07.
Then I got the heroic achevement on 9/27/07 way too easy I think, but still very worth
it if you have been following the story line and want to know "The Way The World Ends" LOL
