I many chinese restaurants, when you buy a dish with scallops you aren't getting bay/diver scallops, you are getting rounds of meet punched from a ray or (less frequently) shark fin.

In Australia, where fish and chips are a popular dish, shark is often sold under the name of "skate" (which is like a ray, and used for fish and chips as well) and is quite tasty. They dont go after the endangered sharks like they do in SE Asia though.

This happen to my sister. She was in a crowd on the strip in vegas when she felt something strike her head. She thought someone hit her with a bottle. When the ambulance crew looked at the wound they told her it was a bullet wound.
