Can I use Handbrake as a video converter? A want to convert Revision3 videos to XVID since they no longer do that format, so I can put it on my mp3 player and watch it on my TV. Is it possible?

Do you need XVID? Will one of the existing formats work on your "MP3" player?

Yes. mp4 doesn't work, and Revision3's wmv format is different from the wmv that works on the mp3 player. XVID works best.

Handbrake won't do XVID, you'll need a different app to do that.

On the xvid website there's only a codec download, no encoders or players. Are you thinking of DivX?

A quick google search finds a Video to DIvx (and by virtue Xvid) using Handbrake page on the Divx Labs.

Ok, so do you guys know of a good open source/free video converter? Doesn't have to be Handbrake.

Here's lifehacker's top 5 media converters, and if you don't like those just search their site for more. http://lifehacker.com/#!5058888/five...dia-converters You could also, you know, watch Tekzilla for their recommended video encoders. Or search the forums. I swear someone answers the "which video encoder" question about once a month. |
