Default Disney buys STAR WARS !!!

Disney is paying $4.05 billion to buy Lucasfilm Ltd., the production company behind "Star Wars," from its chairman and founder, George Lucas. It's also making a seventh movie in the "Star Wars" series called "Episode 7," set for release in 2015, with plans to follow it with Episodes 8 and 9 and then one new movie every two or three years.

I just got goose bumps at the thought of Joss Whedon directing a f%^$ing STAR WARS movie . . . or an Indiana Jones movie . . .

The deal brings Lucasfilm under the Disney banner with other brands including Pixar, Marvel, ESPN and ABC, all companies that Disney has acquired over the years.

The only good thing about an Episode 7, it would have to include Han right?

I doubt they're gonna drag out 80 year old Harrison Ford. And Nathan Fillion was born to play Han Solo.

I just hope they don't reboot anything . . . that would be a total waste of time . . . I really hope they create new material.

Very excited about this. Disney has done a great job of expanding beyond kid-friendly programming in the past 10ish years since Pirates came out. Hopefully they can make an awesome adult Star Wars trilogy.

Completely agree Tsmith15. I am more excited for Episodes 7-9 than I ever was for 1-3.

People seem to be reacting with the kind of optimism that would require Lucas to actually turn the franchise over to someone else.

If he's still Captain Egopants Controlfreak, I don't know if that's gonna happen.

He doesn't have control after selling it - hence the selling it. He even said it's time to turn over the reigns of STAR WARS to the next generation of film makers. He's out.

Finally, a chance for a good Star Wars movie.
