Hi friends!
We've barely tipped the iceberg so far on the show----there is such a variety out there. What would you like to see reviewed on the show?

Cola Wars ...
No, not Pepsi vs Coca Cola ... Bottle vs Can vs Soda Fountain (vs Slurpee?) ... also throw in a bottle of Mexican Coke in there as well (sugar based, not corn syrup ... not as sweet). There is a science to getting the syrup/soda water blend right, and too few restaurants pay it any attention resulting in sub optimal beverages. If you want to latch onto a cause for your show, this is the one. Forget global warming or a tanking economy, poorly calibrated soda machines are evil - and the public need to be educated on it.

also, is there any good "real" lemon/lime soda? I have given up on the famous ones. I LOVE lemon and/or Lime. Key Lime Pie, Lemon Merangue Pie, lemon drops, lemon yoghurt/custard...
but NO lemon/lime soda tastes like lemon at all. Just tastes like a sweet water with a hint of tangishness.

I think a review of a few Arnold Palmer bottles are necessary. Or even DIY Arnold Palmers? Make it happen!

To be honest, the only one I ever tried and liked was the one they make at the Crocodile Cafe in Pasadena. I have a question though ... what is the optimal ratio of iced tea to lemonade ... and since I like carbonated drinks, what about lemon soda instead of lemonade? Sweet vs unsweet tea? And how do you do a controlled, objective experiment?

Second: We actually just shot an episode featuring a DIY lemon soda...it was so good. I prefer my tea without sugar (see latest episode on my thoughts) BUT I think southern down home sweet tea is amazing with sugar...if you're going to go down that route load it up ![]() |

The Arnold Palmer is a mix of half iced tea, half lemonade. Sometimes called a split or a 50/50 depending on the region. If you can find Arizona Iced Teas locally, they have a version. Snapple do a Lemon Iced Tea, but the ratio is too strong on the tea for it to be an Arnold Palmer. BTW - yes, named after the golfer. It was a favourite of his.
