This is one scam that will definitely go down as one of the best. I've had a good amount of success with this.

The one thing you've got to be careful of is to make sure that when you tell your mark that they have to search for "Professor Alfred Singleton" that they don't just search "Alfred Singleton". I had one person do that. She said, "It'll show up in the list." I took the iPhone back and told her there may be other Alfred Singletons and that I'd find the right one.

Oh, and that "Dramacon 3 Launch Party" video in the related videos in the YouTube search results during the episode? Mine. Totally unrelated, but an attempt to keep the other mind control videos from showing up as related videos and ruining the trick.

Fun stuff! So I imagine he got the idea for this from something called NLP(Neuro-Linguistic Programming), so he decided to develop a cheat for it, hehe, nice. Here is an example of NLP from a British magician named Darren Brown used on Simon Pegg!...

I added jokers, usually a deck has a color joker and a black joker, and I know Brian said a "deck of 52", but that's a choice. I know there aren't any videos recorded for the jokers, but oh well, the sheet covers all bases. And, hell, even if you do say 52, there's still a chance they'll say joker!

May I suggest a little refinement ?

You could well send someone the link to some Derren Brown NLP Video... It's actually quite impressive and makes a good introduction as doober remarked.

Example : http://tinyurl.com/3lsypb. (it's a google video link)

Then, do the trick as you would normally do it and give them the name of that coach/prof/reverend/doc guy.

What we want there, is that they look for the interview in the same window (google video). The good thing about that is that they won't see all the related videos that spoil the fun when you send you mark directly on Youtube.

OR : For a quicker version, you could also make them search for the guy on google and then click on "video". Just make sure they don't click on the Youtube link first (probably not sure-fire if not done live).

What do you think of that ?
