Hey all. So I just got contact back from several companies that are currently seen very frequently as promos on revision 3 shows who now show interest in sponsoring my new yet unaired podcast. I sent them links to three pilots of my podcast doing an unboxing and review of a product, a training slideshow made in keynote and then with demo of how to use the application as well as a voice over with me, and an interview with a well known geek toy shop. Anyway I'm not sure what I should do with the sponsorship if I should do a flat fee of say 500 a month for the fact I'm doing 2 to 3 shows a week. If i should do a charge based on viewer ship and views of each video. Or if I should do a hybrid of both?
HELP! |

I wouldn't charge based on 'how much do you think I should charge' but actually on how much the podcast costs to run (your time included).
While I'm fortunate enough to do a job I like which has a lot of variety, sometimes I get called on to do some informal external consulting. e.g. a consumer electronics company might ask me to do some marketing assistance, as well as technical consultancy. TBH if I had to, I'd be quite happy to do a lot of these for free or just to cover my expenses since it's more variety, more contacts, etc and the jobs are rarely onerous and can be quite glamorous, while taking relatively little away from my day job. However in these cases I charge based on the use of my consultancy time. |
