Default Product Question: Element 40LE45Q 40" 1080p 60Hz LCD TV

Does anyone have any experience with this TV or the Element brand?

Specs on the TV look OK (not stunning, but this is as a second TV, and not our primary one). They appear on par with a Vizio type brand ... but its not one I'd heard of before.

Looks like they are a Sears/KMart type inhouse brand, and at $549, the price is good.

I don't know about this particular tv but I have used one of their tvs and their blu-ray players. The tv was pretty good but died on me out of nowhere. I boiled it down to a power surge but I think I only told myself that to make myself feel better. It just died after about 4 or so months. The blu-ray player worked quite fine but I decided to go another way and got rid of it, plus it didn't have a network jack on it, but they did have updates by way of firmware downloads to burn and update. Main reason I have a good bit of experience with them because my store sold them last Q4 and seemed quite well, looked good on display with the rest of the other somewhat lesser, in home type brands. If not hanging, I found the bases for them seemed quite sturdy and came with tools. As a secondary tv, two thumbs up, main tv, iffy.
