...is not The Great Train Robbery.
It is the first narrative film in the United States of America. Le Voyage Dans La Lune, for example, was made in 1902, and is a narrative film. The opening to Film Riot is therefore erroneous and misleading. Otherwise I love the show. Last edited by tabarnaco : 03-23-2010 at 08:38 PM. |

FWIW - Australia did the first feature length narrative film The Story of the Kelly Gang dates to 1906.
So, the Great Train Robbery might have beaten it to the screen, but was nowhere near as long.

It's irrelevant, a film is a film, no matter how long it is. The point is that Le Voyage Dans la Lune was a narrative film and preceded The Great Train Robbery, as opposed to what the opening of Film Riot claims.

You might think its irrelevant, but it goes to show that it depends on your perspective.

Who cares? Not like Ryan is teaching a class. This is ENTERTAINMENT, with some knowledge on film making.
