"Obama To GOP: Act On Jobs Or Get Run Out Of Town" What a jerk. What the heck has he been doing the last few years?????? The Democratic party was in control of Congress and he still could not get anything done.

I think the bigger question is what has Congress been doing, regardless of who's in control? While people are suffering Congress continues to debate issues & vacations frequently at the peoples expense. Obama might not have the greatest bills, but neither has anyone else. Health Care for instance, every health care plan someone is going to be neglected. So why not put all the plans through to let the people choose whats best for them rather than the Gov't forcing something that may not suit your needs. Everything Obama tries to do Congress is the reason why nothing happens. Granted there will have to be adjustments made. No matter what goes through, your gonna have to deal with making adjustments.
Without a shadow of a doubt Obama should take some of the blame. Also without a shadow of a doubt Congress is a bigger problem than the President. Congress needs a huge payrolls cut. Congress needs to stop taking vacations frequently. Congress needs to stop thinking about their own political view & start thinks of the people as a whole. I'm a big supporter of 'Act On Jobs Or Get Out Of Town.' The Jerks are in Congress. It doesn't matter who's in control, Congress would rather argue & vacation at the people's expense while the people are suffering. |

Regardless of which side of the aisle someone is on, the problem isn't Obama - or any President - it is the congress and senate.
The first job of any congressman or senator is to ensure that they get re-elected. It is not to serve their constituents. It is not to do what is best for the country as a whole. Were the Democrats the solution when they held the house? No - they needed to compromise to get numbers to pass a bill (remember those? Notice how it is not the President who creates a bill - he just signs it). Were the tea party caucus of Republicans the solution? No - they have been just as ineffectual as the incumbent Democrats - even more so because they have fractured the GOP into two definite sides. Were the moderate/center Republicans the solution? No - because the tea party came in with a resounding "NO!", and to get a majority, the GOP needed to work with them. Term limits are the solution. If you are not campaigning for re-election, you have a chance to actually do something for the country ... even make decisions that might be unpopular with your party base, but are for the good of the country (and that goes for liberals as well as conservatives). I am glad Obama is finally starting to say something. Instead of continual compromise, he is throwing down the gauntlet and telling the vocal congressional minority (and it is NOT the entire GOP that are causing problems) to put up or shut up.

agreed...to some extent. That doesn't stop them from going out and campaigning...or vying for a different office. (It'd be nice if they limited how early they can start campaigning for election/re-election, but that's not all that relevant here.) Unless they could only hold one term at any government level, they'll still focus on the next term/job. But, career politicians do seem to be the main issue in a lot of the problems.
(Personally, I still say limit 2 terms at each level...local, state, federal...with maybe a third if one of them is executive. At least a career politician would have to work their way up that way.)

So, according to Mr. McConnell and that tea terrorist Eric Cantor, the single most important thing isn't to create jobs. It isn't to get the economy back on track. It's to ensure that President Obama is a modern Jimmy Carter. Sure, that's fine for election time. But when I see in my own home one disabled parent and the other (who happens to be a cancer and diabetes survivor) struggle to get food for themselves, I don't want to see or hear, "Our jobs is to make Guy X a one term something or other." Quote:
So you have a party that's willing to allow the President's reputation to go down, Congress' reputation to go down--their own included btw--while the economy suffers..to do what exactly? Oh right. To ensure the Republican Party gains control in 2012. And you ask whats wrong with the President and the Democratic Party. |

I don't know how I missed this. Seriously? A terrorist? This kind of rhetoric is exactly why this country is as divided as it is. I don't care if it's coming from the left or the right. This sort of thing seriously needs to stop. Disagreeing with a persons political agenda is one thing. Calling them a terrorist is straight up ridiculous.

Obama knew all along this wouldn't pass. This bill isn't about creating jobs. It's about Obamas re-election. He would rather say "I tried, but the Republicans killed job growth in this country" rather than continue to twiddle his thumbs as he's done throughout the rest of his presidency in regards to job creation. Obama shouldn't have wasted time on that piece of excuse for a health care bill and should have focused on the economy. People talk about going into a double dip recession. I think the close to 10% unemployed would agree the recession never ended for them. He blew it, and if he's running against Romney he's probably going to be voted out.
