A computer manufacturer is a lot like car maker you could argue all day about which one might be best, that said I'll make a couple recommendations Dell or Apple both make a solid machine and won't screw you. I highly recommend building your own computer, it really isn't that difficult, just do some research and ask questions if you can't figure it out and you'll have a machine that you know inside and out and have some fun doing it. Just decide what your budget is then what you want to do with it and find the best case, power supply, motherboard, cpu, RAM, Graphics Card, Sound Card, CD/DVD, Hard drive, Monitor, Keyboard/Mouse combination you can afford to do that job.

I think for a 12 year old your seem more mature than most and contribue to the forum; good on yah.

Every computer maker has their high points and their low points. It just depends on your preference and money situation.

If you have the money and time to spend then build your own. If not go with a dell, gateway, hp, or etc.
