Default Comic Book Store Sales

So my LCS is having a huge sale tomorrow. There will be 50 cent bins, 50% off trades and back issues and 35% off of new comics. I have some extra $$ and have already done my Christmas shopping so I was wondering, what should I be picking up. Im thinking about checking out some manga stuff but what back issues should i pick up (Im not that big a fan of trades) I read mostly Marvl stuff and would like to read some DC books and maybe some Indie books that I have not given a chance. Also does your store have sales? What are they like? What do you buy?

I'm more of a mainstream (Marvel, DC) kinda guy. Because monies tight, my comic shop is online. They usually runs specials a couple of times a month... like last month they had all Marvel, DC and Image floppies 50% off for Black Friday and earlier in the month they were running a 50% deal on some graphic novels.

This month they gave me a 15% coupon code so my average savings will be between 50%-65% off my pre-order floppies, and they're throwing in a couple of free comics if I buy at least $25 bucks.

As I said, I usually buy Marvel and DC but mostly DC. I got a free copy of Buffy the Vampire Slayer this month, which was pretty good. So I think I'll be picking it up this Dark Horse title on a regular basis... boy I miss that show! Babes with stakes who can kick butt!!! oh yeah!!!!

I have a Mile High Comics near me and they run 30% to 50% sales from time to time. I buy a lot of trades usually use these sales to pick up books that I can not find online or online with a discount.

I had been eyeing the Fell hardcover for awhile but Amazon only had it at full price and then sold out. When Mile High had a 50% on trades that was on the top of my stack.

The sale I hit last week, I bought:

Serenity: Those Left Behind (hardcover)
Y: The Last Man (vol.2)
Powers (vol.1)
Uncanny X-Men: The End of History (vol.1)
Runaways vol 5, 6, 7
Invincible: The Ultimate Collection (vol.1).

All of those at 25% off.

I also bought three back issues each of Fear Agent, The Exterminators and (adjectiveless) X-Men for $0.20 a pop.

Pick up DC's new book Simon Dark if you haven't already. Issue #1 was good, issue #2 was great! I think it's the best comic out there that no one is talking about.

As far as sales at my LCSs, the one where my pull list resides rarely has a sale, but when they do, it's a good one. There is one LCS chain in the area that seems to have a sale every 6 weeks. It's funny to me because the LCS chain offers a better discount and is closer to my house... but I don't shop there because their customer service is horrible. I go to a place closer to my work because they have a better indy selection and their customer service is 2nd to none.
