What type of wireless card do you have, and are you wanting to run windows only?

Three things you need:

- A MacBook (or MacBook air, MacBook Pro)
- Kismac (a wi-fi packet sniffer)
- A bottle of gatorade

You dont need a Macbook Air. You dont need a Mac at all.

What will make it easier for you on a non Mac, Intel based laptop is a copy of the BackTrack Linux Distro. All the tools you need are there, and can be loaded onto a USB thumbdrive to boot off as required.

haha, wardriving is best done on a shit laptop. A used Dell X300 is ideal as it's dirt cheap and very lightweight. If your wireless card does not show up in netstumbler just buy a new wireless card. If you want to go wardriving, I like the 500mW USB wireless card from Alfa as it has an antenna connector so you can add something like this:

It also helps if you have a GPS unit, I like the Garman rugged units as they are waterproof and can take a drop. Your also need a copy of GPSgate, but other than that your good.

I'd also say grab a copy of earth stumbler http://mboffin.com/earthstumbler/ as netstumbler logs are not very interesting to look at.
