Default Pownce Shutting Down

Um, this true or just a scam e-mail that passed through Gmail's filtering system?

True perhaps, but the service is shutting down. I don't think the original business plan called for the termination of the service. Then again, they've really only told us what we need to know as Pownce users. So, we can't really judge the shameful nature of the actions.

To tell you the truth I never really saw Pownce as useful. Great concept, but it's already been done several times before and others have implemented this better.

I loved the concept and used it a lot at the outset, but fell away from most social networking and forums for awhile. I'm sorry to see it go, it was a really good concept.

Twitter is like a wave from across the room.
Facebook is like having lunch with a friend.
Pownce was in between, like a handshake and a story.

Good or bad, it was just in-between.

i wish twitter would have bought it and introduced the file upload and transfer service. i can see big things happening with that.
