Nice info, but two questions:

1) why the black background? No green screen working?

2) The Revision 3 logo/bug is in the middle of one of the guest's head. Very tacky. When you have something real up there, move the bug to lower corner

I believe that this was shot at the ZDNet studio. I recognize the table from DL.TV. The black background is probably from when they shoot Cranky Geeks.

The one thing that I don't like about Systm right now is how 'produced' the show is. But, this episode was absolute crap as far as production goes. It sounded like they were using the 'Auto' volume setting on what ever was used to record audio, and the audio just sounded like crap overall, unless they all had colds.

White Balance was off between cameras, and the handheld shots were just too bad as far as stability goes.

My apologies for just coming on and totally ripping this episode, but this episode was really bad, and should have been a segment on Tekzilla.

Default compiling C++: I/O bound or CPU bound?

Maybe someone out there know the answer to this.

I compile code for a living. Well, that's what it feels like, anyway. Every time I hit the compile button in Visual C++ I'm greeted by a lengthy wait.

Will a system with a faster CPU help me here? Or do I have to worry more about hard drive / I/O bus speed?

On a side note, I just bought / built an MSI Wind "nettop", which has an Intel Atom 330 (1.6GHz dual-core) and a Maxtor SATA hard drive and maxed out the memory at 2gb. Not a powerhouse, but still better than my aging Athlon 3000+ box, and boy it was cheap.
