Standalone Blu-ray players

I'm looking to get a Blu-ray player for my TV.

I don't know if all of them do this, none or some but I'd like to be able to burn mp4 files (specifically, H.264 and AAC) to DVDs and/or CDs and watch them on that. An example would be downloading a HD Revision3 file, burning it to a data CD or DVD and playing it from the menu.

I haven't bought a player in years but when I bought my last DVD player I found it quite hard to find one that would play data CDs with avi files on them (without having to burn to a particular format such as SVCD or "DVD video") so before I rush out and buy a Blu-ray player, I'm making the assumption that this is still the case.

I also want to play Blu-ray disks on it, obviously

Any recommendations?
