Um, why? John Hodgman is no more of a representative of Apple than Alex is of Dell.

Touche my friend... but he just really pisses me off. Intelligence doesn't make up for being a complete jerk. Getting up to make a martini in the middle of a show, instead of just drinking the Duvel. Making snide comments about beer in general. Acting pompous and refusing to even look at the Nokia Booklet. It seems like he is a representative of Apple, now that I think more about it. Put others down to get ahead. Isn't that the image Apple wants? Really I want to punch him in the face. |

I was a little annoyed by Hodgman at first. His personality does take a bit of getting used to, but he seems like an ok guy. You have to admit, the play on Alex's death date and the tablet rumor was pretty funny.

John Hodgman being a douche? I get the feeling the majority of folks dogging him here have either never seen him on The Daily Show, or only know who he is because of the "Get a Mac" commercials. He's a comedian, the elitist vibe is his shtick. I wouldn't take everything he does so seriously.

Also, enough with the Alex-and-Kevin-hate-each-other theories, you guys have CLEARLY never hated anyone in your lives. |

The biggest douche in this episode was Audible.com.
1. Search for "More Information Than You Require" by title. Find the audiobook, great. 2. Register. Have to provide credit card. Hmm. 3. Search for "More Information Than You Require" by title now that i'm logged in. Doesn't appear in the results. wtf? 4. Try to cancel subscription. Audible advises me that I have a credit, and it would be a shame to waste it. 5. Buy some random audiobook with my credit. Checkout. Audible.com now tells me I need some download manager or plugin to listen to the files. Wtf? 6. Try to cancel my subscription again. Refuses to allow me to do it and wants me to phone customer service. 7. FINALLY am able to cancel my subscription for real. Had to select "I'd rather not give a reason" and wade through four stages of "are you sure". 8. Try to cancel account fully and/or remove credit card details. There is NO way to remove credit card details or cancel account completely without phoning them. Worst sponsor ever. Last edited by ruprecht : 12-03-2009 at 09:29 AM. |
