Default Linux MCE?

Has Tekzilla done something about Linux MCE? If not, can it be something of interest to do a show about Linux MCE, what hardware to use, how to setup and use a Linux MCE sytem?
Or is this just a lame idea that all old Tekzilla fans just hate?

I like mythbuntu (works great on older hardware), but never really had a chance to play with linuxmce. But all the demos I see of it are awesome.

I have seen both those videos, but they are almost like Family Guy, "something, something, install; something, something, Linux; something, something, i can see TV in the kitchen. The End".

They do not show any hardware, except a ugly remote with 100 buttons, and that is in the part where they say that you only need a device with 3 buttons to control LMCE.

I did try to install LMCE on a computer (LapTob), but it did not find my IR-dongle nor my remote (MS), it did not find any of my bluetooth devices and it did not find any media units on the local net, like my PCH.

I has 5 remote operated power sockets from Nexa (2 with dimmer), dot I can not find any information about what I need to control them with LMCE, as they do in the demo/video.

Maybe this can be a whole show, for there is sure plenty of other software out there that allows you to controlling your home, and loads of hardware that can be used as an alternative.

P.S Sorry for my bad spelling; I am not only a swed, I am also uneducated and kind of stupid :-)

I have to ask a really dumb question., Did you install a tv card (probably via usb) on the laptop? Normally linuxmce is meant for a desktop with a tv card and an extension to the ir port so that the remote can connect with it. linuxmce has a forum where you can ask specific questions at http://forum.linuxmce.org/.

I did install it on my laptop as a test and I did so for my laptop has bluetooth, the goal for this test was home automation and to see what i did need to buy before I did installer LMCE as a permanent system on a stationary computer.

I has a USB for digital TV, but I did not test that more than I saw that LMCE did found it. That can sound stupid, but if I not can control other things wit LMCE, then I has no USE of LMCE and I can go back to use 4 other programs and 6 different remotes to control the media and tights.

I do still think a LMCE can be a great idea for tekzilla, for it can cover things like free software and tons of gadgets that can be used with LMCE and all the geeky things you can do with LMCE.

By the way. Happy New Year in advance, I will be gone until 2nd January.

I'm going to making a DVR out of an old P3 and I'm considering this software.
