bmp to FB compatible format

Hello,
Long story short, my nieces had a Cheerleading competition this past weekend and my sister purchased some of the professional photos. She asked me to upload them to FB because she doesn't know how. I had to individually scan, crop and rotate all the photos and they are now nice, neat and pretty in their own folder. Unfortunately, I'm having an issue uploading them because they are in bmp format and I do not know how to convert them into jpg or FB compatible format. Please help! My sister is so proud of the girls and wants to show off their pictures as soon as possible!

I'll assume you are in Windows.

Open each file in MS Paint.
Save each file from MS Paint using the "Save As..." option, selecting JPG or PNG as the file format.

Done.
