help I need to figure out how to hack a password protected bios

Disconnect computer from mains, remove motherboard battery, wait 10 seconds, replace motherboard battery, turn computer on.

I think resetting the BIOS will clear the BIOS password. There's a jumper on the MB for that.

If its possible to boot off a USB thumb drive, reflashing the BIOS might work as well.

Then again, it might not, and the laptop would be hosed.

On the MOBO, look for a jumper or dipswitch labeled as one of these:
CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, JCMOS1, CLR, CLRPWD, PASSWD, PASSWORD, PSWD or PWD

If it is a laptop it will most likely be a dipswitch.
If it is a desktop it will most likely be pins/jumper

Toggle the switch or move the jumper, power on then off and reset the jumper or dip switch.

You should have a default password-less BIOS

Edit: Removing the battery won't always work; It could have the bios backed up to the disk.

Laptops can be a git to clear, depending on the brand and BIOS you can reset the password within the OS. What's the reason for needing to do it? If you cannot boot a CD or USB because of a locked down BIOS, take the hard drive out, use something like Hirens Boot CD and remove or reset any Windows password and finally use something like CmosPwd to reset the BIOS password.

I've seen some, slightly older, laptops (Toshiba and HP) actually have a port dongle that plugs into the COM or Parallel port to clear a BIOS PW. At the time we had to send it to them for it to be done but I bet these days you can find them on line (or at least how to make one)

u can use hiren boot disk or ultimate boot disk to recover or change ur bios password...if u have external boot is enabled if not then just remove battery and then reinsert it u done..
