A couple years ago there was a brilliant short film that had kids battling it out with nerf/supersoaker guns. All the bullets, explosions, blood, etc were animated and it even though it was scribbled animation the effect was amazing. Anyone remember the name of it? The google machine finds too many useless results.
My main question though- has anyone ever tried anything like this? Any advice other than rotoscoping? I'm shooting next month and there are about four scenes I'm going to do alternate takes of in the hopes I figure it out in time for post. |

Do you mean this one: http://www.killsometime.com/videos/7...Modern-Warfare
Having just watched it, I'm guessing rotoscoping and general motion tracking. |

Yes! That's exactly it! Although they seem to have an artist with some amazing anime-style skills.
Also, if anyone's interested, here's my very brief animation test: http://db.tt/yHxIeCut Last edited by whattheydontsay : 05-14-2012 at 07:43 PM. |

It's pretty much just standard rotoscoping and motion tracking. The quality of the art all depends on the artist and time put into it.
