Plasma TV-Are they still hot (temp wise)

A few years back I owned a Hitachi Plasma TV and was very impressed with the picture. But what killed me with the Plasma TV was the temperature. It ran warm and being only 4 feet from our thermostat it raised havic with our heating and cooling. We finally got a new LCD TV and have had no problem with heat. Are the Plasma TV's still running as hot as they ued to or are they cooler now?
