Minis with Enemies Kickstarter: Taking Tabletop RPGs Digital - Desktop/Tablet/Mobile X-plaform

Any tabletop geeks in here? What do yall think of this?

These guys are wanting to make a DnD-esque game that is set up like Words with Friends so you can play several games at once. I think that sounds dang cool. Also, they are crowdsourcing the ruleset and aesthetics, which again is awesome...

It definitely won't replace playing with my group, but I have several friends who moved away that I could play with. I've tried playing with some of them via VTTs, but really don't have time during the week between my weekly game. Since this is a bit more passive than VTTs, it would be a godsend. I could play while I'm on the porcelain throne... at work!

This is the first project I backed and I hope it gets funded. It's a really cool idea. I love tabletop gaming, but i don't get to play often. This would be a perfect solution. I hope others back them, too.


BTW - a person could go broke from Kickstarter! There are a ton of projects I'd like to support. LOL

no kidding. I've backed several projects at this point and all of them i checked out with no intention of contributing and then suddenly found myself throwing $10, $20, $30 at the screen and having to really resist going higher. I've got bills to pay! hah, but when there is a project you feel you can really get behind, it becomes very easy to hand over some money.

anyways, I think Minis w enemies are doing a good job of answering a lot of questions people had about the initial pitch and encouraging people to suggest features they want. they put out an update video the other day that helped clarify exactly what they are wanting to do: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...0/posts/247863

With 16 days to go and $7,603 pledged so far out of $300,000 goal, it's not looking too good. I hope this gets funded. If you have any interest at all please consider backing them.

Sadly it has been canceled. Hopefully they'll be able to come back and get more interest.
