I am not a fan of 3D movies in the theatre. Finding the "sweetspot" pisses me off too much ...
But we recently bought a 240Hz 3D capable TV (its kinda large so the experience should be immersive) which came with 2 pairs of 3D glasses ... and I would like to know what looks good. Any recommendations?

My friend has a 60" 3D plasma TV, and we've watched a few movies in 3D.
The best looking 3D Blu-ray we've watched is Avatar, hands down. Hugo was also pretty cool. The worst was Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Looked like crap. I just got John Carter on 3D Blu-ray, and I'm looking forward to watching that soon. Can't say yet though. 3D movies I've seen in the theaters that I think should look good on 3D Blu-ray are Prometheus, The Immortals, Up, Cars 2, Kung Fu Panda 2, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, and How to Train Your Dragon. Porn. You can stand next to the tv and pretend like you're next.

If feeling nostalgic for a 3D B-movie.. the 1st 3-D I'd ever seen in the theater was Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared Syn (1983)... it might be interesting to see how those old 3D movies hold up on todays hardware.
