I would really like to see ben try to make an Xbox Slim PC . Using a Xbox slim, try and make a PC that uses a lot of the original hardware i,e, the disk drive, hard drive slot, etc while maintaining the original look outside, Xbox touch buttons still usable, and maybe Xbox system sounds that you hear when turning on the system or tray uses, a built-in wireless receiver for Xbox controllers. I don't care what type of PC motherboard he uses, i would really like to see how he would adapt to use original parts for use of PC and still fit it in a Xbox slim body. and also what kind of a budget this kind of a project would run. I think this idea would be great for the show and for a tutorial.

remote entry into the trunk of a older vehicle. for example 1999 chevy cavalier, the idea is that you got to the beach or where ever and instead of keeping keys in your pocket or gear. You would use your phone or transmitter to access your trunk of vehicle to obtain your belongings. This idea came about being that a arm is missing between my key for the trunk to the latch and thought if I am going to fix it, why not make it a remote.

I reccon since Ben loves his Pinball, and so Do I, that he makes a full size Pinball Table that uses a 42" LCD or Plasma (LCD I guess As I think plasma has to stand upright) as the actual play field. Using either a PS3 or XBOX (PS3 prefered) to run the software (Pinball Arcade by Farsight) and then map the flipper buttons on the sides to the controller, oh and the plunger, or even an Ipad with HDMI Link to the TV I guess might work as well with some sort of controller interface, bluetooth, for flipper buttons.
In regards to graphics on the table have a mix of all the table graphics that are currently in Pinball Arcade the game. (There might be licensing issuse...humm?) Not sure what to do with the back box display or graphics even. Ideas? Good idea or not? Last edited by prophet2271 : 06-28-2012 at 11:00 AM. Reason: Spelling |

This may bee too advanced but what the hell...I still want someone to make my dream watch...a replica dick tracy watch, with working bluetooth speakerphone and LCD display that not only shows a clock but will show a caller ID of who is calling you, throw in a vibrate option so your watch vibrates when you get a call just for good measure. Most importantly it has to look just like the original.

I was thinking about how useful it would be to have a wireless remote control for a Jazzy power wheelchair. My mother uses one from time to time but she is very nervous about driving it and frequently hits walls and chairs and is just not very good at maneuvering it even after a year of having it. She now commonly doesn't want to use it because of her fear of losing control of it. If I had this kind of device then I could drive it while walking beside her as she rides. Plus this would make it easier for myself to move and load the power chair so I don't have to actually sit in it to drive it.
Here's a video of an Arduino controlled Jazzy power chair. http://youtu.be/91XqrzFhTWk Last edited by ben34 : 08-26-2012 at 08:09 AM. |

My parents recently bought a hot tub, and my father added onto the deck to go around and over the hot tub. The structure above the hot tub just happens to be perfect for a tic-tac-toe board (3x3 openings). My father and I thought it would be cool to use EL wire or rope light for the O's and X's and have a small micro-controller run automatic games that cycle between tie games and occasional winners. There would no user interaction other than to turn it on/off, and maybe to adjust the speed of the game. If possible, it would be nice to be able to turn the game off and instead just have some kind of flashing or chasing lights, but that's not a requirement, just a would like to have. I imagine kind of thing could be done with something like an arduino, but I don't know the first thing about how to use them, or even know anything about programming.

As an amateur musician, I use an ios App called "forScore", which stores pages of music and displays them on my iPad which I can use on my stand while playing. The biggest problem is turning pages while playing, as you have to reach up and swipe the screen, which is not always convenient. The ideal solution would be a foot pedal where you could cause a page turn forward or backwards. The company that makes the app has a link to another company that sells bluetooth pedals that work with the app, but they charge over $115 for a pair!!! Of foot pedals!!! Surely this can be done better. And Cheaper!
Thanks! Dana ps I believe they only send a PageUp and PageDown back to the app Last edited by danaschwartz : 09-24-2012 at 07:15 PM. |

![]() No need to turn pages. Since you are supposed to be playing along, it will either scroll the page or turn it in chunks for you. Pretty intuitive. Well supported by the author. Windows, Mac, and iOS clients available.
