Default How to automatically delete moments of silence from a video?

I have asked this question on a couple of other forums, including the Adobe forums, and am so far being told this can't be done, but I thought I would tyr asking the Film Riot crowd if they know.

I have a lot of videos of people giving presentations. These presentations have a lot of long pauses in them where the speaker isn't saying anything.

What I want to do is to have an application (I own all of the Adobe products, but I am willing to purchase any app that will do this.) automatically detect the silent pauses in the audio track of a video, mark all of those silent pauses , and then delete those moments of silence from the audio track and the video track so that the video track stays in sync with the audio track. In other words I want to automatically detect all of the pauses in the speaker's dialog and automatically edit them out of the video and audio so that I end up with a shorter video w/ audio that has no long silent pauses.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
