Default HTPC with RAID

Anyone know of a HTPC sized device that also has RAID for basic home server use?

Not sure what your budget is, but I personally love HP's N36L or N40L Microserver. You can set it up with Raid 0 or 1 in the BIOS, do software RAID, or install a separate card for hardware RAID. It comes with 160GB/250GB HDD already but had room for 4 drives, 1GB RAM (up-gradable to 8GB).

They have them via Amazon or Newegg

You are the 2nd person to tell me to look at those.

I like that it is not headless. My mediasmart has been more annoying than anything in a headless configuration.

Yeah guess I never got the point of doing a nas when a home theater PC is about the same price

Throw this in a case with a power supply, buy ram, then load with hard drives, and install linux. I prefer greyhole to raid as whenever I buy a drive I tend to go bigger and greyhole makes copies and balances for me. It's a bit of a pain to set up and slow on writes but you can't beat the flexibility. I currently have two 1 terrabytes, a 2 terrabyte, and a 3 terrabyte drive with half the space used. My distro is below so of course I am a little biased but I give it away for free and if you don't like it find one you do.
