Default Movie: Ted

I agree with Alex. It was an okay movie with some outright funny moments followed by long stretches of meh. The teddy bear looked great. The FX was exceptional. There wasn't one instance I didn't think the bear was real. LOL Even the action scenes were well done. A lot of times it just looks like a doll.

It's definitely not a "rush-out-and-see" movie, but it was good.

So, is it:

[ ] See it on the big screen
[ ] Buy it on BR/DVD/Cloud Vendor of Choice when released
[ ] Put it on your BB/NF/etc queue
[ ] Wait for premium cable
[ ] Wait for non premium cable
[ ] Wait for free to air
[ ] If it's there watch it, but don't rush out.

tokenuser: So, is it:

[ ] See it on the big screen ---->> nope not necessary (unless ya wanna see Marky Mark's pale ass in IMAX)
[ ] Buy it on BR/DVD/Cloud Vendor of Choice when released ---->> yes its worth a watch, but not a purchase. Rent it
[ ] Put it on your BB/NF/etc queue ---->> see #2 above
[ ] Wait for premium cable ---->> sure if you can wait that long (I'm impatient...I gotta have instant gratification lol)
[ ] Wait for non premium cable --->> nope unless you like it when they edit out the curse words for words like "freaking", "shoot", "goshdarn" because they'll be a shitload
[ ] Wait for free to air ---->> don't hold your breath lol
[ ] If it's there watch it, but don't rush out. --->> Yes

I absolutely loved this movie. The only problem I had was mark wahlberg. He's just not funny and when he tries to be its so obvious he's acting, it just doesn't feel natural. His Boston accent felt over exaggerated at times. I'm usually a huge Marky mark fan but this movie would have been way better had they cast a more seasoned funny man.

"Melonfarmer" is a new one to me. I flipped past Observe and Report on late night Comedy Central or TBS and Seth Rogen walked into the mall and Aziz Ansari said, "Forget you Ronnie you melon farmer" and I lmao, because Aziz's face was too serious to be saying melon farmer.

I can't stand the censoring practices on tv. Super Troopers had the booby blurred in a scene they were discussing moustache rides. Austin Powers is NOT a family movie Family Channel. Comedy Central has pushed the boundaries (first to say 'shit' on basic cable), I mean, "The Roast Of...." has recently aired late night unbeeped and had 'cunt' in it. But they are inconsistent, and the next night, everything is edited out of a 1am movie.

If I record a movie on TV and anything is censored, edited, blurred, or cut I just stop watching it. I had to go out and buy Wedding Crashers on bluray a month or two ago because my recording on pvr was edited but there wasnt anything edit-worthy in the first 5-10 minutes so i got hooked on seeing it again before finding out.

On the topic of Ted, I just saw it and thought it was really funny. Basically half of the unfunniest jokes of the movie are in the trailer, and all the funniest stuff is new.
