Default 3D Movie Recommendations

I am not a fan of 3D movies in the theatre. Finding the "sweetspot" pisses me off too much ...

But we recently bought a 240Hz 3D capable TV (its kinda large so the experience should be immersive) which came with 2 pairs of 3D glasses ... and I would like to know what looks good.

Any recommendations?

My friend has a 60" 3D plasma TV, and we've watched a few movies in 3D.

The best looking 3D Blu-ray we've watched is Avatar, hands down. Hugo was also pretty cool.

The worst was Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Looked like crap.

I just got John Carter on 3D Blu-ray, and I'm looking forward to watching that soon. Can't say yet though.

3D movies I've seen in the theaters that I think should look good on 3D Blu-ray are Prometheus, The Immortals, Up, Cars 2, Kung Fu Panda 2, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, and How to Train Your Dragon.

I would say that Avatar, Hugo, How to Train Your Dragon, are some good ones to start off with

Porn. You can stand next to the tv and pretend like you're next.

Our new TV is the 80" 240Hz Sharp Aquos LED LCD TV.
It is porn in and of itself

If feeling nostalgic for a 3D B-movie.. the 1st 3-D I'd ever seen in the theater was Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared Syn (1983)... it might be interesting to see how those old 3D movies hold up on todays hardware.

How many of those are out using the tech in current TVs, or would the conversion be worth it? I imagine the coloured glasses versions would be similar upgrade as a normal movie with the DVD or HD move if the transfer was good.

...it does remind me I haven't watched some of the coloured-glasses dvds I have that way, yet.
