I'm more excited for 5 than I was for 4, because of the location (Russia) and because it looks like real terrorists rather than DH4 cyberterrorist bullshit.

But I feel like it's making the same mistakes as 4, having McLane's kid and an annoying sidekick. I get that 1 and 2 both had "sidekicks", but they were more in ancillary roles. Then 3 had great success with putting Samuel L Jackson in a true sidekick role, and I think when they made 4 and 5 they looked to that success and said, "Hey, let's do that again". But Justin Long is no Samuel L. Jackson, and I doubt the kid in this one is either.

This time it looks like they're making the double mistake of making his kid the sidekick.

On the flip side it looks like the kid can actually initiate action and do some damage himself, as opposed to pussy Justin Long needing to be babysat the whole movie.

Same...even if I rewatch a movie after a couple of years (like I did with Avatar recently) I'll go back and watch them talk about it. This was what I wanted to do with The Following pilot...what I did with Asura's Wrath when I finally played it a couple weeks ago, etc.

On a positive...watching old episodes means wanting to watch/play what they're talking about is easier and cheaper.


I still don't see why people like Die Hard 3 so much...I thought 4 was about level with it.
