![]() After a bit of an OT conversation in the Episode 35 thread, I figure it is necessary to bring it up outside of that. Simply put, Top Gear is by-far too great of a show not to have mentioned on TRS. I believe it has been said that it may in fact be the most-popular television program on the planet, shown in countries across the globe with an outstanding and devoted fanbase that would kill to see it in person. Never heard of it you say? You can read all about Top Gear here! In simple terms: - Three hosts (Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May) - One racetrack (Dunsfold Airport in Surrey, UK) - One Stig (the be-all-end-all ultimate driver) - Award Winning (International Emmy Awards, British Academy Television Awards and National Television Awards) - Brilliant cinematography - Spot-on writing (wonderfully hilarious as only the British can supply) - Chemistry (TRS + Cars X British Accent = Top Gear) Here is an excellent example of Top Gear at it's best from earlier this season: Please guys, give this one a nod. Its on BBC America every Monday at 8 PM, and I believe there is a marathon on today (Friday the 24) on BBC America as well. If not, get on the online interwebz and head on over to FINAL GEAR to get the latest rip on the torrents. This show is completely worth a look, and I'd hope you'd consider it for the TV section!

On a campsite? Ha. Well, then you’ve really had it because women, and I have no clue why, think tenting is erotic. Which means you’re going to have to spend the night listening to a hundred wizened ramblers bouncing around on the only pole in all of tenting that’s still upright. - Jeremy Clarkson on Camping Last edited by YSSMAN : 11-23-2007 at 04:27 AM. |

Top Gear is easily the best show on TV. Has been for quite a few years, i dont know why the BBC in the states shows eps from last season as "new."

It's getting a reasonable amount of love in the top ten TV thread too. Great great show! Someone mentioned they're doing a Top Gear marathon in the states this week?

I don't give too shits about cars, and I'm still endlessly entertained by Top Gear.
It's like equal parts review program, equal parts mythbusters. Some of my favorite episodes are the ones where they drive beaters across foreign countries. Hilarious stuff. Here, watch some on youtube. Top gear drives across the american south: Part 1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=QBaEUTfxcYE Part 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=rUg9yoJq1yY Part 3: http://youtube.com/watch?v=vZ3uiE0fHmE Part 4: http://youtube.com/watch?v=62EOY2bI7Tw Part 5: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9UxKjM57CHI Part 6: http://youtube.com/watch?v=baTeVUYn9vs And then africa: Part 1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=AIeObvxObH4 Part 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=yUwwLWSyEqI Part 3: http://youtube.com/watch?v=E-xrBHhfyPw Part 4: http://youtube.com/watch?v=n5h04rBVnwg Part 5: http://youtube.com/watch?v=oGBvq1BVfxw Part 6: http://youtube.com/watch?v=M_qPT1ZVxck And of course, any segment that involves trying to wreck the Toyota Hilux or doing anything with the Bugatti Veyron is epic. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DoxEis_Y7F0 I mentioned it in the Yip Yip thread, but the guy in the blue jumpsuit is my Dad. I'm not proud of that fact, as I know what he's really like, but still, when it comes to cars, he knows his stuff. Wes

Is that Trevor you're talking about?
We get Top Gear down here in NZ, too, and it's a firm favourite - even if Clarkson can be a bit of a git at times :P It's also worth mentioning their Winter Olympics Special, the time they made boats that could (kinda) work on water and the 'Top Gear of the Pops' special. |

I breathe, live, sleep TG. I definitely wait till the wee hours of the night on Sunday's to *cough* watch TG from Britain. Fifth Gear gives me my car fix when TG isn't on or it's filming.

Great show. I love the episodes about the Bugatti Veyron. This one is my favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXNR9_zhWY8
