Default Rare Artists You Listen To...

So, with Rabid posting a bunch of music threads... I figured I'd start this one. Maybe Patrick will post some of his bands in here.

What are some artists you listen to that if you were to ask someone in public if they had heard of 'em, they'd say: "Who?"

Here's my list:

Zakk Wylde
David Gilmour
Roger Waters
Download
Dream Theater
Elmore James
Lee Ritenour
Michael Lee Ferkins
Joe Satriani
Steve Vai
Rusted Root (When I woke only...)
Stevie Ray Vaughan

Granted some of them may be a bit more popular than others, however, I still bet you I'd have a 20% chance of any of GenerationY hearing of any of those.

Favorite band: Pink Floyd

I don't know why, but there just aren't any more Led Zepplin's, Pink Floyd's, or Rolling Stones anymore. Now it's just bullshit music, with some half naked hot ass chick singing some bullshit over.

I used to love me some They Might Be Giants. I still to this day remember going to Turtles and buying the Apollo 18 CD. Remember all those crazy ass fingerprints songs?

I like two squarepusher songs:

Squarepusher - Plaistow Flex Out
Squarepusher - The Exploding Psychology

If you like squarepusher, you should check out Download's - Eye of Stanley Pain -- most ****ED up CD to listen to EVER. Especially back in the day... *ahem*

Never heard of them. Also, I'll be shocked if you can find that Eyes Of Stanley Pain album. On the offbeat chance they have it, this is what the cover looks like:

Or this one (depending on which release they have)

The problem is, I'm just not in touch with what's known and not (Hell, I've heard of more than half your list, I have music from at least a third)...and some I listen to are only 1 cd of which, some are just a few songs from, etc.

Well, from a quick scan, I came up with these:

Samhain
S.O.D.
Da Yoopers
Warlock/Doro
2 Live Jews
Doomtree
Badlands
Zodiac Mindwarp and The Love Reaction
Scatterbrain
D:A: D
Mary Schneider
