Default Patrick Norton, learn to say Miro

It shouldn't bug me, but it does.

Someone give Patrick a clue on how to pronounce Miro.

So, how do you pronounce Miro - I would rhyme it with Hero, not Biro.

we really should have a rule about not letting peoples' first post be starting new threads.

Lighten up Francis.

Yes, Miro should rhyme with hero.

I agree. They should have at least 10 replies before they gain thread making privilege.

As much as I believe in the spirit of that. I suspect that most people register in order to start a thread. Therefore, new members may not bother posting at all. This might inhibit forum newcomers from participating at all.

However, this is only a personal feeling I have.

The idea of moderating the first 5 posts has some appeal.

i think 5 would be good. it would cut down on the spam, thus cutting down on the mods' work and give people a chance to learn how we do things around here

Spam seems down this week. Usually, two out of every three posts in General Discussions is spam.

happy to hear it but it will be back. i've been a member of forums that limit things to new members. it's not really that big of a deal. you end up with people who want to part of the scene that way
