Aliases and being anonymous = being coward. Unwilling to take responsibility for ones own actions and views.

This idea is ridiculous.

If you can't man up for what you enjoy and take some criticism, then you need to evaluate your self esteem. I can post questions like a newb with no problem, since I don't know everything and anything. There's always something to be learned. Also, if I like something goofy, like say Fruit Club (which if you look at my posts, I openly admit I enjoyed Fruit Club), it doesn't make me any less techy than what I am, nor does it make my opinions on anything else any less valid.

The only reason I could see someone using an anonymous monniker is so that either they could harrass someone without that someone knowing who you are, or vainly attempt to make these boards a Chan board. Neither of which belong here, IMO. Chans are the chans, and that's to be expected. This messageboard OTOH, is not.

Change for changes sake is not a great idea. There's an old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

No one said you're ideas were stupid. No one said you were stupid. They suggested that this idea is "stupid." But, did you not start to thread to get opinions.

"Stupid" not really an offensive description, at least not gratuitously so. Indeed, I think there was quite a level of restraint shown.

Comhc you are flaming because you're provoking people, your question is off topic and you keep asking it.
I agree. It is absolutely NOT a stupid idea. Just not right for this forum.

OK so lets say I or someone else removes this thread. Could we possibly have a sticky thread of ideas for a forum update?

MovieBuff has multiple account disorder. It would go against user/moderator privilage to reveal which other accounts are his ... but I think even Dr Phil could figure this one out.

And link it to one other account (no, not Skyz), and possibly another more recently created one (but the jury is out on that one at the moment).

Multiple accounts? Bad idea. There are users here that can have an adult conversation, then turn around and drop into a drunken bacchanalia (ever visted the Blackfox thread in Infected?).

Pointing fingers at one particular user here, I have had a running war of words with in various threads - yet we have each other on IM (and of everyone here, I only have about 5 of you on IM - so its not like I "collect" friends), and help each other out where we have common ground.

The forums are already pretty anonymous, but its not hard to figure out who I am (or others are) IRL either, so there goes anonymity.

Basically, i wouldn't say anything online I wouldn't say in public ... and that includes in boardrooms or in a bar and the range of places people meet in between.
